NRA firearms training is often referred to as the gold standard in firearms training. The NRA was founded in 1871 after the American Civil War. The founders were dismayed by the poor marksmanship of the soldiers of the period and felt that this may have prolonged the war.  These veterans started the NRA as a means of providing marksmanship training to ensure that the nation would have better marksmen in the event that they were needed to defend our Country. In the nearly 150 years since it's founding, the NRA has become many other things, but it has never strayed from it's roots as a training organization. From Olympic shooters, to the National Matches, Law Enforcement Activities, Women's Activities, Eddie Eagle, Hunter Safety, Range design and safety, the NRA is there and pretty much wrote the book on it.
